Share Your World 04-11-2022 — Answers

This week I had the pleasure of taking over and guest hosting the Share Your World for Melanie at Sparks from a Combustible Mind

Here are my answers to the questions I posted earlier…..

Do You Prefer Salty Foods or Sweet Foods?

I would say I prefer Sweet Foods over Salty. I do like to have at least some salt on my food it can & does make the difference between that is kind of blah and “missing something” and food that tastes good; However, I don’t like my food overly salty. My husband is the complete opposite. He LOVES salt on his food. I use to joke that I was going to put a shist load of salt on a particular dish and then wait & watch while he added still MORE salt to his food before tasting 😏😝. Sweets, on the other hand…well let’s just say I have a major sweet tooth.

Would you rather be in a place where it is excessively hot or excessively cold?

I don’t think I’d like either, to be honest, but I can handle colder temps much better than I handle warmer ones. The biggest, and only real, issue with colder temps is that if it gets too cold & dry my cough asthma acts up. When it comes to the warmer side of things, anything much above about 75 (indoor temp) I’m miserable and can’t function without being planted in front of a fan. Out door temps 80’s and above I’m starting to have problems and at 90 (or anything above that)….Forget It!!

I am also of the opinion that you can always put more layers on but there’s only so much you can remove before you would be considered indecent, not to mention there’s only so much before there’s literally nothing left to remove and you’re in your birthday suit😝.

Favorite Mode of long distance travel (Bus, Plane, Train, Automobile, or other).

Growing up, I use to love to fly. I started flying by myself when I was probably 6-7(???), to visit my grandparents. My dad also owned/rented a single prop (Cessna 182) and we use to take short trip (from Beaverton to Brooking OR) all the time, not to mention the short little hops around Beaverton). Anymore, I don’t really enjoy flying… too much hassle. It’s been quite sometime since I’ve been on a train but the few times I’ve been in the past, it was a lot of fun. Been years (as in well before Covid) since we’ve been able to afford traveling anywhere though hubby did manage to take a road trip with our son to a train convention fairly recently (either earlier this year or latter part of last year). My order of preference would probably be: Automobile, Train, Plane, Bus.

What was your favorite holiday growing up? (You can also use american holidays or appropriate holidays from your country)

Passover was a fun holiday, growing up. I use to help my dad make Sponge Cake (which, if you’ve ever tried, is delicious😋). During the Seder, I would hide the afikomen (special set aside matzah) and my dad would have to try to find it. He would act like he had no idea (though I’m sure he could’ve probably found it if he actually tried). One of the guess at our Seder as a friend of my dad’s who was a lawyer. He would “represent me” to make sure I got a good deal for “information on where to find the afikomen…. It was all in good fun😆😂.

A close second might be Christmas… yes, our family celebrated both — my father and I were nominal Jewish but my step-mom, at the time, and her kids were nominal Christian. I remember my youngest step sister would jump on the bed to wake me up then she, her older sister, and I would go into the living room and sort through the gifts and the stockings. At some points are parents would wake up and come downstairs pretending like there was all this “work” to be done and no Christmas, etc. This was met with cries of Mommmmm, Daddddd (or appropriate first names – I always called my stepmom by her first name and I think my step-sisters did the same with my father).

Gratitude Section

What gave you the most gratification this week?

I’m not really sure…. I know, that sounds really bad considering I’m the one that came up with this question😂. I am thankful for members of the Simming community on Twitter for being most welcoming (though that’s not specific to this last week). My husband recently found an app that allows me to transfer stuff easily between our desktop computer and my tablet, plus he found a hub that I can plug into my tablet and then plug a USB stick or an SD card into that allowing me more storage. There’s a sense of gratification in being able to get work done on Sims videos and get them uploaded unto You Tube without it being a huge fight to get it done.
