Urgency is relative.
When it comes to a 911 call, the person making (or initiating) the call it may seem help cannot come quickly enough. Possibly nothing would seem as urgent as the situation they are in (and perhaps they are right)….
On the flip side there are such statements as “haste makes waste” and “the hurrier I go, the behinder I get”. If police or fire & rescue go rushing into a scene they risk missing something, something that could mean the difference between life and death to themselves, to others… perhaps it is not so much that the urgency of situation is relative but that the importance is how you react & respond to that urgency… Remember this: If you don’t have a couple seconds to Stop, Think, and Plan in a situation – regardless of urgency – you don’t have the time period.
