Today’s post is the Daily post challenge – Planes, Trains and Automobiles
You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, or car? (Or something else entirely — bike? Hot air balloon?)
As a child I always enjoyed sitting in the airport terminal, when I would travel, and watching the airplanes taxiing to and from the gates. I was a bit hyperactive as a child and yet I could sit quietly for hours watching the planes. As a child I also enjoyed flying but never cared much for the take-offs. I absolutely hated being in the back part of the plane and, no matter where I sat, would have to close my eyes and be listening to music to get through it. I couldn’t say that I would have had a full blown panic attack but take-offs were definitely hard. Once I was in the air I was fine — with the exception of the darn turbulence.
As an adult I have come enjoy train travel a good deal better (though now even train travel is a commodity we can not afford). I love traveling by train and meeting new people. I can’t recall the people we’ve met over the years but a few still remain in my memory – An Amish couple, An Orthodox Jewish couple, and a few train nuts (like my husband).
If I had the ability and money, I think I would like to travel across the country in an RV or Travel Trailer and be able to stop and see different places along the way. Being able to stay as long as I wanted and leave when I was ready.
