A (Fake) Smile

She goes around with a smile on her face doing what has to be done.

No one knows the trouble inside, No one sees the pain.

No one sees the hurt she hides behind a fake smile.

They don’t see that she’s forcing herself to do what needs to be done.

They don’t see that she’s tired, Tired of it all.

That she’d rather stay in her room and hide from the world.

When she cries out with feelings of depression she’s told it can’t possibly be.

After all she’s up and about…

But only because she has no choice.

No one else will do this stuff for her, No one else will get the job done.

So with a smile planted on her face, that doesn’t reach her eyes,  She pushes herself forward.

Forcing herself through each day….

Doing what needs to be done.

Why Jottings & Writings?? Because my (main) blog is a mixture of thoughts/opinions (jottings) and my attempts at (very) short story challenges (writings). Interests? - Pretty much anything to do with Fire/EMS/Police, Writing, and Social Media Firefighters, Police officers, Paramedics, Soldiers.... Those are the True Heroes.
