NNo, I’m not talking about the kind of nap where you go lie down…

Nap (or nappe in french) is a process where you completely cover a food item (usually a piece of meat) with a light coating of sauce so that it forms a thin even layer.

To nappe also means to evenly coat the back of a spoon with a thin layer.
