Share Your World (2014) – Week 27

Somehow I missed (overlooked) Cee’s Share Your World for Week 26.  But here’s week 27:

If you were the architect of one existing building, which building would you select?

I wouldn’t even know where to begin….  I know nothing about architects or building design or anything related.  About the closest I can say (in answer) is that these days I much prefer open spacious floor plans.  I think a good part of that has to do with being married to a man in a wheelchair (open floor plans are easier to navigate).  But there is also something said for the fact that as I get older and less able to stoop, bend, move around  a smaller abode with less nooks & crannies that need cleaning can be a real plus.

What is one of your favorite quotes?

I can’t say that I have a favorite…  Never really put much thought into it.  One “saying”  I like is the one about the man walking on the beach complaining that G-d hasn’t been there for him during his deepest need…  “My child those times when they’re was only one set of footprints you saw (during the most difficult times) it was then that I carried you” {I summarized a bit, but you get the gist}.  Another one that was, as I understand, my mother’s favorite  is by Kiekegaard (sp?)  “Life can only be understood backwards, but must be lived forwards.”

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?

I’ve been told that Greens and Purples are really good at highlighting my eye color (hazel), but it’s brown I find myself wearing quite a bit of the time…  That and blues & grays.  The commonality is that I prefer to wear more subdued shades regardless of color  and don’t tend to wear red or orange (definitely not orange), though I do have a red suit.  The only thing that I might wear for bright would be nail polish  (though lately I haven’t been able to do my nails without a hassle).

What is something you learned in the last week?

This may not what Cee is referring to, but I did finish up another course through coursera.org  This makes like 5 total.   One  I ended up pulling out of as it wasn’t what I thought  and another I (surprisingly) did poorly in, but the other three went very well (including 2 “Statement of Accomplishment” certificates.

The last course I took was called “Vital Signs – What the Body is trying to tell us”.  Just got the “course grade” back today and it was 84%, which earned me the 2nd  “Statement of Accomplishment” spoken of in the paragraph above.  I’m really quite happy about that and looking forward to taking another course…  But then I’m also considering the option of going back to school via the local community college and getting an actual degree…  Well certificate to start with at least (we’ll see after that).

what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Biggest news this past week (or so)  is that my son headed off to visit Grandpa for a couple weeks.  Actually it’s not his first visit there, nor his first plane ride.  He returns home in about a week and we’re missing him like crazy.  I wonder how much he’s grown in the couple weeks he’s been (or will have been) gone.  Ohhh and just about 2 weeks after he gets back, school starts up for him.  Not just new school, but new school system…  And then his Bar Mitzvah is just about a month later.  Exciting times around the corner 🙂

  1. Thanks for the pingback Tena. My mother loved the quote about the footprints, she had it on her wall.
Congratulations on your achievements & especially on your sons Bar Mitzvah 🙂
