Each week Lily McFerrin does a “five sentence fiction” challenge. This week the word is “moments“. Here’s my story
Just one moment, that’s all it took. Just one moment in time to change her life forever. A single careless decision by someone she didn’t even know. No one surviving but her. Those whom she loved ripped away from her.
note: though not mentioned, the above is based on
a DUI premise. One single decision to drink & drive can in a moment change the lives not just of the person doing it, but innocent parties as well. PLEASE. Don’t Drink & Drive
Great, and unfortunately all too true for too many people.

Short but strong! An all-too-familiar scenario, I’m afraid. Good story.

In my haste to post, I’ve misspelled the author’s name. The author’s name is Micki PELUSO
If anyone is interested here’s the link to her poignant memoir.

What I like is that it’s not clear exactly who made the bad decision

Like Robin said — you almost don’t need the PSA at the end there.

Your choice of words here has been quite succinct even without your descriptive information at the end. I read a wonderful memoir of such an event, “And the Whippoorwill Sang” by Micki Pelusi.
WELL DONE !!!
