Ayana stood on the deck, holding tight to the railing as the large ship bounced on the rough waters of what she had heard called the “Atlantic Ocean”. Way off in the distance, she could barely make out the statue of Lady Liberty.

Ayana was thankful she had a strong stomach, otherwise she’d of missed the interesting and wonderful sites – such as the small boat up ahead that seemed like a toy.

She thought of her mama and 2 younger sisters down in their tiny cabins with sick tummies. She’d have to remember all she saw so she could describe it all to them later
